My 99-year-old mom and I, as her advocate and caregiver, have had a wonderful experience at Jennings Terrace.  She lived in the Sheltered/Assisted Living side for 2 years, Jan. 2019-Dec. 2020, and now on the Skilled Nursing side for 3.5 years, Jan. 2021-present. She receives excellent care from administrators and all departments:  nurses and CNAs; food service and maintenance; housekeeping and laundry; activities and physical therapy, etc.
Everyone has been very competent, friendly, well-trained, open to suggestions, and willing to answer any and all questions.  I am in the building twice a week with no set schedule showing up unannounced, and everything is always under control.  From my perspective all residents are treated with compassion, respect, and kindness.  Looking forward to my mom's 100th birthday celebration on site in July.

When we were looking for NH placement for our parents, it was very stressful because we just wanted to make sure they would be well cared for. The staff at Jennings have been absolutely wonderful both the nursing staff as well as administrative staff. They are all very willing to help and some of the nurses I know more than others but they always encourage me to call if I have any questions. We sadly lost our mom a couple of years ago due to an illness she had been battling for many years but my dad is still there and we honestly couldn't ask for a better group of people to care for him. I work in healthcare so I was very picky in choosing a NH. It's not a fancy place but it is very well cared for and the staff does everything they can to give the residents a good experience. In my experience, I honestly am more skeptical of the facilities that have extravagantly decorated entryways because I feel that they put a larger focus and money towards that and less towards residents. The staff at Jennings ALWAYS put the residents first. I love that it is a smaller facility where everyone knows my dad and he's not just a room number but a person. They have so many activities and events that they encourage family to attend. You can honestly tell they truly do care.

My father spent his last months at Jennings Terrace. From his first days there I knew he was in good hands. It was easy to see that the staff truly cared about their residents. I recall a conversation with the physical therapist who expressed some frustration on getting Dad out of his room. I said something like "if you can find a couple of bridge players, he'll come out for that!". I think he searched from one end of the building to the other and a week later Dad was out of his room playing his favorite card game. That is going above and beyond. When Dad's health started to fail, his nurse called me directly and shared her concerns. Her care was genuine and personal. Years later when Mom needed more care there was no question of where to go. The care and compassion was as amazing as I remembered. I remember her nurse wrapping his arms around me to offer some comfort when mom passed. The people at Jennings Terrace are kind, compassionate, and genuine.  I highly recommend them.

My name is Julie and one year ago I found Jennings Terrace for Nancy, a lady I am a care giver for. Nancy and I are so happy to have found this incredible home for her!  She has adjusted so well and loves her room and the staff! I can't say enough about the staff.  Everyone has been so accommodating and so very helpful to Nancy and me.  I have peace of mind having her in such a wonderful place to live out her days!

Sincerely,

Julie H.

Jennings Terrace is a very special place. My mom is there and she is 100 years old. She lives on the independent living side, but she is surrounded by people who care for her and love her for who she is. It's not the kind of place that wants to gouge you. It's the kind of place that sincerely cares about people. The staff is exceptional at what they do and exceptional at understanding people from different walks of life. They are able to have compassion for my mom and her health or mental health difficulties that we all have at times throughout life. I am so thankful that my mom is at Jennings Terrace. There are a lot fancier places, but I don't think there is more skill or care or compassion in those places. This is home for my mom and she is happy there. We decorated her room and she loves it. She goes and sits out by the big cozy fireplace and watches a movie with other residents when the weather is cooler. And, when we walk in are usually greeted by someone who gives us a smile or a group of people playing games and laughing in the game room. This is home for my mom and I am so thankful to Esther, Daphne, Diana, Keosha, Diane and all the other staff members that I haven't named that make sure that things run smoothly. I live out of state and I know my mom is cared for, and it means so much!”

This place is so comfortable. I am independent on the sheltered care side, but the staff is always helpful and makes me feel safe. It’s a friendly, open atmosphere. I like the mental activities, like build a word. I love my table mates, and appreciate that the nursing staff is delivering medication on time to us. The caregiver helps me with my haircut and keeps me dignified. The staff check on me often and make sure I am okay.

I have found the people that work at Jennings Terrace to really care about all residents that they care for. My mom has dementia and can be quite a handful to care for.  Very agitated at times and the people that work there are so PATIENT with her.  She started on the assisted living side and then moved to the nursing side.  They were concerned on where she should have her new room.  I also was able to bring a camera that I bought to monitor my mom.  This camera was NOT to watch how she was being taken care of but to see what my mom was doing and how I could help her navigate what she is going thru.  It has helped alot and I'm glad this is allowed at Jennings Terrace. I have found cleaning is on top of their list.  It never smells like your typical nursing home.
