- Another Successful Ice Cream Social and Car Show Bake Sales
-
- + The 53rd Annual Ice Cream Social was held on July 20th on the grounds of Jennings Terrace. Thank you to everyone who baked, attended, served, and ate33; Those attending enjoyed the warm summer weather, keyboard entertainment from Sandra (both outside and inside) and of course cake and ice cream. Nearly $1,000 was raised from this fun annual event.
-
- + Thank you also to all the bakers for not one but two Car Show Bake Sales. The May Car Show was rained out, but the Bake Sale took place anyway inside and the Sunday Buffet customers enjoyed purchasing bakery treats. The rescheduled Car Show in September offered yet another opportunity to raise funds. Nearly $500 was raised from these efforts!
-
- Jennings Terrace Auxiliary General Store:
Tuesdays, 12:45 PM - 2:00 PM
-
- + Throughout the year Auxiliary members "mind" the small on site "general store" at Jennings Terrace. Many residents look forward to the opportunity to browse the shelves and pick up needed items, small toiletries, snacks, cards etc. Volunteers are always needed. Usually two volunteers operate the store each week, assisting residents with their purchases from the already stocked shelves. If you are interested to help for a shift, please call Jean Meyer, (630) 801-9866. Wanted: Small gift items that residents may purchase as presents for the holidays. Donations may be labeled for the General Store and dropped off at the Main Office.
-
- Jennings Terrace Sunday Buffet
Sundays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
-
- + An extensive buffet is offered in the Main Dining Room for residents to casually enjoy throughout the day on their own schedules. The Jennings Terrace Buffet is also available to the public and it is wonderful to see many families, friends and neighbors socializing and enjoying the buffet each Sunday, often coming after local church services. Visitor prices are: $6.50 for Adults, $4.00 for Adults 75+, and $4.00 for Children 12 years and under.
-
- Volunteer support for the buffet cashier position has come from the Auxiliary Membership since June, 2010. Auxiliary Member Dorothy Mosher has graciously volunteered nearly each Sunday as cashier. A list of back-up substitutes is being compiled. Anyone interested in volunteering to help as cashier with the Sunday Jennings Terrace Buffet, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM, may contact Auxiliary member, Mollie Millen, (630) 820-5635.
