Jennings Terrace News, Updates, Reminders and Requests
- 52nd Annual Ice Cream Social
- + Wednesday, July 21st from 6 - 8pm the Jennings Terrace Auxiliary will be hosting the 52nd Annual Ice Cream Social. Homemade cakes, lemonade, coffee, raffles and of course ice cream will be available for everyone to enjoy. This yummy, fun, fundraiser is held on the grounds of Jennings Terrace, rain or shine.
- The entertainment this year will be provided by Terry's Tunes. Ice Cream Social tickets are $3.50 per person, and raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. Jennings Terrace residents receive a complimentary Ice Cream Social Ticket for this event. Everyone is welcome to attend. Invite your friends, family and neighbors.
- The New Sheltered Care West Side Terrace is open!
- + For access information, please check with the Main Office or nursing staff.
- Jennings Terrace Scarecrow Festival!
- + Look out crows! A new family fun day for Jennings Terrace is in the works for the end of August… the Jennings Terrace Scarecrow Festival! Watch for more information in the future.

The Aurora Public Library Bookmobile is available for all residents in the Shelter Care Lobby. Large print and audio books are available and may be reserved in advance for delivery. |

- + Jennings respectfully thanks all the family and friends who have made recent memorial donations especially those in memory of
Don Cousland. - A Big Thanks To . . .
- + Julie Barcus, Tom Cousland and other family members of Don Cousland's family for the loving landscape additions to the Annex flag pole and north lounge area. The butterfly garden with the peaceful bench seating will be enjoyed by many for years to come.
- + All our residents, volunteer employees and Jim Berkland who participated in the Memorial Day Parade. It started out dark and stormy but we made it!
- + The Affordable Antiques Charity Day, held on May 29th. It was a big success! Thanks to Gary Domzalski, son of residents Harley & Kathy Specht, and Dennis Hull, of Affordable Antiques. Thanks to appraisers Sue Morales, daughter of resident Anna Kirby, Sue Saballus and Mike Murphy.
- + Thanks to Jacky Schoenbach for the bake sale that day. Thanks to all the participants, customers and friends for supporting the event and donating items for resident's use.
- + Dorothy Ellis for the donation of one dozen red geraniums in memory of those from Jennings who have passed on.
- + The Jennings Terrace Auxiliary members for volunteer work on the Sunday Buffet "Register" in June.
- + Judy Bauer, Sandra and Bill Armbrust and the many other volunteers for their help and donations for the very successful Activities Garage Sale on June 17th.
- + Kathy Smith for sharing her collection of Kitchen Antiques on June 8th.
- + Faith Lutheran Church Group for the beautifully decorated birthday table, visits and card games with our residents; and their youth group singing for us on June 26th.
- + All the many helping hands for the 100th Birthday Party for Frances Bretthauer and for the Father’s Day Cookout with musical celebration by Sandra Armbrust and Jim Gibson & Briar Mt. Boys.
- + Ginger Creek Church for their "Day of Giving" work day.
- + Once again this year Jennings Terrace was blessed with a crew of volunteers who washed windows, spread mulch throughout the property and edged the sidewalks and drive. Thank you all!
