The "Terrace Tiers" team with "Lydia's Piecemakers"

Sheltered Care Residents are partnering with Lydia's Piecemakers of St. Mark's Lutheran Church to tie quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Lydia's Piecemakers bring assembled quilt squares sewn to a backing for our residents to tie the layers together to finish the 5-step process. These quilts of love are then given to Lutheran World Relief to distribute to refugees and other people in need for warmth or shade from the sun.

This on-going partnership with Lydia's Piecemakers and the "Terrace Tiers" is made possible through Jean Neupert of Lydia's group and her mother Vivian O., our resident. The project can use donations of recycled good clothing, fabric pieces or pillow cases for quilt squares; good used blankets, mattress pads, comforters, bed spreads or throws for filler; and good used sheets ( any size ) for the backing. Donations may be brought to the Jennings Terrace business office.

Another Successful Ice Cream Social

The 51st Annual Ice Cream Social was held on Wednesday, July 15th on the grounds of Jennings Terrace. Unlike some of the other years, the weather cooperated and everyone was able to enjoy homemade cake and ice cream and entertainment from Terry"s Tunes outside. Over $1,300 was raised from this fun annual event.

Mark your calendars now for the 52nd Annual Auxiliary Ice Cream Social to be held Wednesday, July 21, 2010.

Jennings Terrace Resident Store

Tuesdays, 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM throughout the year Auxiliary members "mind" the small on site "general store" at Jennings Terrace. Many residents look forward to the opportunity to browse the shelves and pick up needed items, small toiletries, snacks, cards etc. Volunteers are always needed. Usually two volunteers operate the store each week, assisting residents with their purchases from the already stocked shelves. If you are interested to help for a shift, please call Jean Meyer, ( 630 ) 801-9866.

Donations and Projects Update

The Jennings Terrace Auxiliary purchased new light fixtures that were recently installed in the Annex Lobby. Additional projects are being considered at this time, but not finalized.
